indoor water feature using rain from the outside? I have a unique room on the back of the house I am doing and I want to try to use the guttering system to funnel the water into the room and do something neat with it before having it exit the room . Maybe an indoor waterfall or have it turn a water wheel or something better. Any ideas?
How would I put in an indoor water feature? Next year we will be building a house to our specifications. I'm curious how big a pond I could have on the second floor. It won't have live plants or fish in it, so sunlight is unimportant. Could I recess it in the floor? The house has two support areas that go all the way vertically through the house. It would go in one of them, in a large bathroom.

What water treatments can you put in a water feature? I have brought a small water feature to put on the shelf in my room. It only takes about a pint of water so it's not a big feature at all. Having spoken to a friend about it he advised putting a water treatment in because apparently the water will go murky. Any advice on what to use or will it be ok? it's an indoor water feature. Thanks
How much electricity does a small water feature use? How much electricity would a small water feature like this use in a month when it's on say, an hour a day for 20 days? I've heard it would be very, very little but am not 100% sure. http://www.primrose.co.uk/mini-slate-falls-indoor-water-feature-with-lights-p-8578.html?src=list_name&cPath=1_7 Thanks!
Indoor Smokey Water Feature? Anyone know where you can get these pretty water features for inside your house, some have a ball on and have a smokey kind of stuff coming out of them, really nice to watch but i just cant find them anywhere! Links to sites are much appreciated! Thanks.
Moldable concrete? For water features? I'm looking for a product I can mix to make water features with. I used to work with this powdered mix to make large out door water features in pools. Naturescape was the product line. I want to make indoor small desktop water features with rock and I need some sort of powdered mix that I can mold and will set. Seems like this stuff has fiberglass in it and maybe plaster but not sure.
Repost bec. I Accidentally Deleted: How does one replace an electrical receptacle with a combo Switch/Outlet? Electrician Please:Thanks those who answered earlier & got deleted accidently.... There is now a normal electrical outlet in the wall & I want to replace it with the Leviton Switch/Outlet. I have an indoor water feature that does NOT have an on/off switch on the device. I must reach behind the water feature & plug it in to turn on & unplug it to turn it off. For this problem, I was sold the Switch / Outlet from H. D. & was told directions for install was in the box. I can't make out the directions. I would like to leave the water feature plugged in at all times and to be able to turn the water feature on/off at the combo outlet's switch. I dont need a GFCI. How do I install the Switch/Outlet? I have only a "small" amount of knowledge with electrical; although, I have changed out outlets before & have installed dimmers and ceiling fans on my own.Below is a corrected link for a description & photo of the switch/outlet: http://www.leviton.com/OA_HTML/ibeCCtpItmDspRte.jsp?a=b&item=9548
I would like to make a small stream in an indoor planter. How? I have an indoor planter that is about 10' x 10 1/2". It has plants and rocks in it. How could i make a stream, trickling waterfall or other water feature. If there is a stream i would like it to be 2' or 3' long. I don't want any water to spill over the edges as well! Would I use something like pond liner on the bottom?
I want to build a indoor dog water trough, any ideas? Hey! I have a wall in my kitchen that needs something, and I have many dogs as I run a rescue for them. I thought of building an indoor watering trough that filters and circulates the water, while also having a fountain at either end to add an aesthetically pleasing feature as well. I can get foutain pumps, to circulate, but I'm wanting to add a filter to it. I'm also at a loss for what to use for the actual basin itself. I'm looking for something about 1-1 1/2 feet wide, and about 3 foot in length. Anyone got any ideas? I'm not very creative when it comes to this stage in the game... Thank you so much!
If you had an indoor wakeboard park nearby, would you use it? I am trying to determine the feasibility of opening an indoor water park in the Chicagoland area that features an indoor wakeboard pool complete with rails, sliders, and ramps. The dimensions as of now are around 60 ft wide by 300 ft long, which is subject to change based on demand. preferably it would be a cable park with wenches.. and the details are NOT at all completely etched out... I am trying to find if there would be a demand... and if there is a demand I would be speaking with people more familiar with the mechanics of the system.
Indoor succulent plant display in a dish of rocks? Hello, When planting succulents (with roots) indoors, can they just be covered with small stones or do they have to have some kind of soil or potting mix for nutrients? Am intersted in making a small indoor feature with pebbles and already struck succulents in. Do they have to go out side every now and then for sunlight? and can they be watered or just be sprayed with a mist when looking limp? And what about holes in the pot or dish? Really appreciate any advice. Thank you!
Asiatic Lily Plant? I have a few Asiatic Lily plants in pots used to decorate an indoor water feature. The blooms are nearly expired and they're looking pretty sad (still green though). I really hate to throw them out but was wondering if they would survive if I planted them outside in Zone9B? Is it too hot? If so, should I cut them back and would they regrow in the container?
tenants rights, what can i do? ok here goes! ive been living in a property now for 8weeks and despite having several problems and them being short term fixed i have a few questions that i need answers for but don't know where to turn! as we have had such a bad winter the maisonette im living in is like and indoor water feature! its a 2 bed ground floor with 4 people and 2dogs living in it. the day we moved in was the day the problems started, we had noticed that the windows in all bedrooms and living room had steamed up then after a few days the water just started pouring from the windows (like it was raining on the inside), i tryed several things like window seal de huminidfiers, table salt pots, wiping them down daily, but nothing seems to work. weve even opened windows when the kids are in another room but even that dont clear them. waking up to puddles on the window seals has become a pain as it started dripping onto the floor so ive now got bath towels on all the window seals! due to the water inside the front door and also the porch door had started to swell so the land lord had come round on several occasions and shaved the wood down so the door could shut! so come the summer the doors will now swing open!!!! the most worrying thing of all is the mould! when pulling the sofa out the whole wall and back of the sofa was covered in mould as well as a book unit i have to! the mould was black, green, white, red and fluffy so had been there a while. i informed the land lord who advised to clean with bi carbonate of soda. same happened in the wardrobe the botom of it plus everything inside was also blanketed with mould. After removing a coat also from the porch the coats were also covered in mould and several items had been so damaged they had to be thrown away. since cleaning all of this the mould has returned and is now starting to damage the property to which the land lord is aware. The agent and landlord advised to use a de humidfier which we have done but un fortunatly it has not worked! when i took the agreement out it was with an agent, i wouldnt acecept a contract without one as and agent is extra security if anything goes wrong and i cant contact the landlord (which has happened several occasions) as of yesterday the landlord had sacked the agents which im extreamly not happy about! i expressed my feelings to the landlord who said that i could move out if he had another tenenat moving in. when i asked when i could moved he simply said " i dont know when someone else wants to move in you can move out" he seems to think that the estate agents will find him a new tenant despite sacking them?!!! what id like to know is if i have any rights in getting out of the tenancy, i signed the tenancy with the agent not with the landlord and now the agent is no longer nothing to do with it is the tanancy still legal! just to clarifiy i have also had environmental health in who are monitoring the state of the property and trying to contact the land lord to help but again he will not answer the phone. sorry for the klong post but i dont know what to do or where to go. thank you
Small indoor garden animals? I have a very small garden in a standard 20 gallon (75.708 liters). There will be different types of herbs grown in it with a fluorescent light and rich soil. I want to liven it up with one or more small animals that could make the soil rich and give off CO2 for the plants. I also don't want it crawling up the glass walls and escaping into my death trap for a room... that would be bad. What would work? Worms? Crabs? Bugs? Geckos? I am very open to types of animals to put in it if it can be well suited in something like this: http://s188.photobucket.com/albums/z74/Burntwave/?action=view&current=Snapshot_20091011.jpg I can add a water feature or a water dish for the animal. What would I feed an animal and what would it need to thrive? Could it eat the future herbs and vegetables? Thanks in advance, but if nothing is okay to put in it, that is fine. I don't want to endanger someone.
Is koi pond water safe for dogs to drink from? I came back from a business trip to find my boyfriend turned on of my planters into a small pond. It is about 250 gallons, has a fountain and waterfall feature and is just screaming for some fish. I'd like to put some koi in it, but I'm pretty sure I have to treat the water for that (I always have for my indoor fish tanks) and don't know if it will be safe for my dogs to drink from. I am not concerned with the dogs going after the fish, but they do have free run of the area where the pond is when they’re out and know that they will not stay away from a water source that large if they are thirsty. Can anyone knowledgeable tell me what I can and what I definitely cannot use to treat this pond? A lot of stuff says it's safe for fish, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's safe to drink. Sararoy03, I appreciate your concern, but I have 6 cats an 18 Australian Shepherds in this yard (plus puppies). Trust me, there is NO wildlife getting near this pond!! Also, I'm not talking about pesticides (I plan on putting one or two of my larger plecos out there for algae control). I'm talking about dechlorinators, slime coat enhancers and ammonia/nitrite treatments.
I want to build an indoor activity centre in my small bungalow featuring absailing, rock climbing, pot holing. Maybe even white water rafting, ski ing etc. Any advice or offers of help.
What is the difference between indoor and outdoor faucets? I want to replace the faucet (spigot) on my tub with one that has a valve (not a diverter) in the faucet itself. This is the only way I can avoid replacing the entire bath-plumbing assembly (which I can't afford!), as the pipes are apparently 'frozen' so that the plumber won't even try to replace a washer in the hot water knob. I can only find this feature on 'outdoor' faucets, some of which are labeled 'outdoor only'. I don't see how there can be much difference in a bit of bent tubing with a valve inside it that connects to the town water-lines.
Which is the best Amusement and Theme Parks in Seoul? There are several large theme parks in the vicinity of Seoul. A day out to these parks requires planning to avoid massive crowds (avoid public holidays and Saturday afternoons if you can) and take plenty of sun protection in summer. Some of the following descriptions were prepared by an expat mother of toddlers. Children's Grand Park is a large, older park with a sort of depressing zoo in the back. However, it does have other things going for it. Before you get to the zoo there is a giant kids' play area in a sand pit. And around the corner from the play area, there is a water feature where kids play. It is like a shallow, concrete stream running over steps and rocks. Toddlers can splash and play on a hot day. Before you get to the zoo, up the hill on the left is a dog petting area separated into small and large dogs. If you don’t have a dog here, your kids may enjoy just sitting with a little dog on their laps petting them or playing with the big dogs. The areas are well-supervised by dog trainers. Buy a 1000KW ticket at the gift shop before going up. Dreamland is located within the city limits of Seoul. An urban amusement park, it’s home to three roller coasters, several carnival rides, a water park and a mall petting zoo. Everland is about an hour’s drive out of Seoul and is set in wonderful surroundings. There are five theme areas including Caribbean Bay, Festival World and Everland Speedway (the latter requires a current driver’s license). Each area has specific attractions, rides and restaurants. In winter, it’s possible to go sledding at Everland Snowbuster. Food must be purchased on the premises at Caribbean Bay; you can’t carry your own and your bag may be checked. For the water sports, a bathing cap is required. Lotte World is a giant shopping, sports and activities complex, and amusement center all under one roof. In the center of the complex you’ll find an indoor ice-skating rink that is open year round and where you can rent skates. Towering above the ice rink is an indoor amusement park complete with a roller coaster, monorail and merry-go-round. It’s a great place to go on a rainy day. A monorail connects this large Adventureland to an adjacent lake outside, called Magic Island. Magic Island has indoor swimming pools, bowling alleys, a folk village, hotel shopping center and several movie theaters. Lotte World is located in Jamsil between the two Olympic Stadiums. Jamsil subway station, Line 2 takes you directly into the complex. Getting there by Subway: Get off at Jamsil Sta. of Subway Line 2 and Line 8. There are exits directly connected to Lotte World. Seoul Grand Park waaaay south of the river, south of the Gangnam area, is nevertheless worth the trip for its two great zoos. It's a long, uphill walk from the parking lot, so consider taking the tram if you can to haul your stroller up the steps to the station. The children's petting zoo on the left lets you feed llamas and donkeys and pet free-roaming pigs and watch some pretty playful monkeys. The larger zoo on the right is in better shape than the one at the Children's Grand Park and it has a fabulous dolphin and seal show. The Seoul Land Amusement Park also is down here. Seoul Land offers theme areas each with its own special characteristics and focus. Performances, exhibitions and events such flower festivals take place in the park. Seasonal facilities such as the outdoor swimming pool in summer and a sledding slop in winter make it a fun place to visit year-round. There are also laser shows and fireworks. Which is the best Amusement and Theme Parks in South Korea Children's Grand Park - Songdong-Gu, South Korea Dreamland - Seoul, South Korea Everland - South Korea Fantasia - Yangsan, South Korea Kumdori Land - Yusong-gu, South Korea Kumho - Kwangju, South Korea Kyongju World - Kyongju, South Korea Seoulland - Kwachon-si, South Korea Woobang Towerland - Taegu, South Korea
Outdoor goldfish in a pond? I'm thinking about putting a pond into my garden. I have quite a big garden but wouldn't want a very big pond. I would like a raised hexagonal (or similar) pond approx 4ft. square. How many fish could I keep in this and what care would they need? Filters, water changes etc. Help please, (constructive only!) as I've only had indoor goldfish before. If my idea isn't feasible please just tell me and I'll rethink my water feature idea! Also, could it have a small fountain of water in the middle. My idea came from something I saw in someone's garden whilst I was walking the dog! Don't know if they have fish in it though. Thanks. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/50-Gallon-Raised-Pond-SAVE-50_W0QQitemZ120274338830QQihZ002QQcategoryZ109070QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem This is what I have in mind

Don't know what this home interior feature is called? I have no idea what this design is called. Let me describe it. It seemed to be very popular during the 60s or 70s. It's like a 'hole' in the ground...(almost like an indoor pool without the water). Here's an example: http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/4953/home11.jpg Anyone have any idea what the name is for this feature? :)

For a comprehensive list, prices and schedules have a look at Navy Pier's own website: www.navypier.com. Here's an overview of attractions found at the pier: - The most eye-catching is the 148 ft Ferris Wheel. It was modeled after the first ferris wheel built for the 1893 World Columbian Exposition. - Near the Ferris Wheel is a 44ft high musical carousel with 36 hand-painted animals. - The skyline stage, a 100ft high vaulted roof structure, is used as an ice skating rink during wintertime and as a 1500-seat theater during summer. - The Navy Pier features two museums: the Children's museum (www.chichildrensmuseum.org) and the Smith museum of Stained Glass Windows, which opened in 2000. - A 7 story Shakespeare theater complex with a 525 seat theater is another recent addition to the Navy Pier. - Other attractions are an 18 hole miniature golf course, a funhouse maze, a 40ft high wave swinger and an IMAX theater. - The Navy Pier is also a starting point for many boat trips. You have ample choice: You can take a trip on a 148ft high, four-masted schooner or you can hop on one of the 4 seadogs reaching speeds of up to 25 knots (www.seadogcruises.com). Architecture cruises and water taxis (www.shoreline sightseeing.com) are also available. You can also opt to take a romantic dinner cruise and you can even charter ships. One of the boats you can charter is the historic 'El Presidente' which was used by US presidents. - You can also rent some of the pier's areas, including the English Garden Tent and the Crystal Gardens, a one-acre indoor glass atrium with more than 70 palm trees.

Hotels near KC, MO for birthday party?? For my 14th birthday I think I am going to have it at a hotel. Like get two rooms for a night. One for boys and one for girls. I have a pretty small budget. What are some hotels and sites I can go to so I can look at the rates and features? I would like a pool, indoor/outdoor doesnt matter. Good, big rooms because there are like 6 people in each room. One like Great Wolf Lodge with a water park would be great but G.W.L. is sooo expensive! I will add other details if I need to.
What is the term for this type of decorative feature? I tried seacrhing it up on google, but I didn't find what I was looking for. This was probably beacuse I couldn't figure out a proper search topic. I am looking for a term which describes the use of running water as an aesthetic for the indoors. Sort off like an indoor fountain or water wall, but more exaggerated to involve small man made streams that run through out the building; or small water falls attached to the walls. Basically, an indoor decorative design, which is very water centric. Nothing that involves paintings of rivers or lakes. To understand the gist of what I am saying, try looking watching a few videos of, the videogame, Bioshock (2) and take a look at the designs. Here is one of those videos to save you the trouble of searching http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvB6ybMxyag&NR=1 ; at around 0:43 up. Yes, I know the whole place is flooded but most the water there looks like it’s for decorative use. ny other videogame would surfice, they all have these wierd architectures. Another question, is this style practical, or has it been used in any real life structures?
Which barn should I board at? Within the next year or so I should be getting a horse. I am looking at farms to board at now because I would like to take lessons for a while at the farm before I start boarding. Farm number 1: http://www.littlehorsefarm.net/board.htm This farm is a mile from my house, and is right next to my best friends home. On nice days I would be able to run or ride my bike to the barn. During the winter I can either go home on the bus with my friend or just get a ride with her and her parents so my parents will not have to drive me. The only thing is that has more adults than teenagers at the farm, and I would rather like to have friends at the barn. Some of this barns best features are . . . . - 70x200 regulation sand ring / lighted for night riding - 60x100 indoor arena with mirrors and rubber footing! - 1/2 mile drive way for cooling. Barn 2: http://www.huntershavenfarm.com/photo.htm This barn is about 30 minutes from my house but driving there would not be a problem because my best friend boards her horse here and is driven by her parents everyday and they said if I ever boarded there I could tag along with them. This barn is mostly teenagers, one of my best friends included. That is the problem. I kind of don't want to ride at a barn with my friend. I feel like I will always be compared to her because everyone there knows me as her friend. Also I don't want to feel as if I am invading on my friends group of barn friends. The board here is about 700 but it has great amenities. A large indoor, dressage ring, race track, cross country course, jumping area and ring around a water fountain. I don't know which one I should choose? If you were in this situation what would you choose? Please help!
What should I be looking for in a farm to LIVE at? Hi everybody! Well, I have no idea how this came up, but my dad told me (a while ago) that he has been looking at horse farms for sale in Canada (mostly PEI but he's open to other places. He wanted to be by a beach though..) to move to, so I joined in the hunt. After a little bit of..slacking on my part, I went looking again. Nothing new in PEI. (sadness) So I looked other places. Though I found a place in New Brunswick, and I think he's considering it. I nearly died when I found it. Here are the features. ~Silo, Hay Barn, Tractor Barn, 2 Storage Buildings, Workshop, House (duh baha), and 2 Car Garage. ~Water and Electric in 2 Barns ~ Electricity in 1 Shed ~ 17 Stalls, breeding shed, Indoor (Heated!!) Arena (wood and pellet stove?) A little background : Is a breeding farm for Hungarian Horses. Has 25 horses currently. 100 Acres. The house is just to cute. (I wasn't worried about it, since usually my choices where "Good house, no space" or "Sucky house, lots of space" ahhaha) And this is also including an opportunity to "buy some horses" Meep! bahaha Here are some pics. I didn't want to post the whole add though. But what do you think of it? I mean.. I'm a *little* hesitant since the barn is strikingly similar to the old farm I was at...And as most of us know that didn't go well at ALL. Thanks! OH! I MAY want to make this perfectly clear. I. Am. NOT. Looking. To. Go. Breeding. Horses. Any. Time. Soon. I don't want lectures on this. bahahaha Pics : http://www.flickr.com/photos/48570078@N03/5365119721/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/48570078@N03/5365119717/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/48570078@N03/5365119715/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/48570078@N03/5365119713/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/48570078@N03/5365119709/in/photostream/ Amber : Bahahaha, I'll try to get over it... Idk ;) lolz. I'm going to be all loney for the longest time!
My cat is VERY aggressive to my new hubbys cats.? Hello! I am a newly wed and trying to blend a fur family and having major problems! My husband has two very sweet, non-aggressive indoor/outdoor cats, ages 5 & 3, both spayed females. We moved into his house after the wedding. Mine is an 11-year old spayed female who has been an only child for about 4 years since her littermate passed away. Some historical information on my cat: She has always been fairly aggressive towards other people. She has never been very friendly in general (except to me, of course). Over the past several months leading up to the wedding & move my hubby has spent hours trying to cultivate a relationship with her with limited success. She began letting him pet her occasionally and stopped hissing and growling every time he came around. For the first week, my girl was seperated from the other two via some fortunate features the house has that closes off the back hall & guestrooms so that she had 3 rooms and a hall to herself. This space joins the rest of the house via the master bedroom, so we have traded the MB every other day between mine & his girls. Things were going ok. Everyone was getting used to the smells and the first face to face meeting was some growling and posturing but that's it. We praised all the girls for being so good and felt very positive. In the time since, my cat has become more and more agressive to the point of attacking the other cats without provocation. We had been deterring this with a water bottle and loud distraction noises, but now that does not even stop her from the fight and my hubby is scratched up and scabbed from breaking up fights and one of 'his' girls has an eye injury. Still, niether of his girls are agressive towards mine. As soon as mine enters a room, sees the other cat (they usually don't even realize she's there) she attacks. This is turning into a nightmare and I am at a loss of what to do. She has gotten to the point where when she is in her sperate area she sits by the door and growls and scratches every time one of the other cats is nearby, and tries to bolt out after them as soon as the door is cracked open. We have tried everything, even the pheremone collars and plug-ins with no success. I LOVE my cat, but she is making our house so stressful. Since she has never been friendly I get zero support from family & friends. My hubby knows how much I care for her and has agreed to do whatever we can to ease the situation but I am at my wit's end! Please help!
A good digital camera? I'm a mom, soon to be of 2. I love taking pictures of kids (play-dates & such), family & outside. I had a camera that you could pick a color & would take a black & white picture with, we'll say I picked red, red g out in red. I got an updated version of that camera & it's 'color accent' feature doesn't do that like my only one did. (my old one was actually my parents-who have now reclaimed it back). My new camera got spilled on & is shot so I am looking to replace it...I'm thinking this time maybe with something water resistant/proof. I don't really know much about cameras& it's SO over whelming trying to research them-I'm hoping for some advice from someone who actually knows cameras. I'd like a small, hand-held size preferably. Something with cool picture taking options, such as the color-accent, & different photo options (winter, kids, indoor, outdoor, etc) a glass lens water resistant if not proof under $300

I have been doing online competitions for prizes and those are the questions i still need the answers to. All the easy questions i have already answered and the ones above are very difficult and i very much doubt anyone will be able to provide all the answers. However i would appreciate a little help to get my name into the prize draws so i will award 10 points for "most" correct answers. THANKS
Why does the IOC limit the number of sporting events (disciplines)? I have been trying to figure out why the IOC limits the number of sporting disciplines to be featured in the Olympics. I read their charter and it doesn't explain their reasoning behind it, just that they do it and that's that. While there are many different events included in certain events (i.e. beach volleyball and indoor volleyball are considered one discipline; swimming, diving and water polo all fall under the aquatics category), it is silly that baseball and softball are going to have to fight to get their position in the Olympics back in 2012 against the likes of Rugby, Golf, and Karate. So I want to know why everyone can't join if they meet the required criteria?
