how to install outside socket for water feature?
I want to install a twin outside socket for a water feature and lawnmower etc, but don't know anything about electrics and can't afford to pay someone. What's easiest and cheapest way of doing this? Would something like this be ok? http://www.ukwaterfeatures.com/Shop/p-807-Twin-RCD-Outdoor-Wall-Socket-Kit.html best answer to anyone who explains simply (because i'm stupid)

- This is a simple inexpensive thing to do you just need to know how. By far, I believe, the best electrical reference is the Black and Decker Guide to Home Wiring about $25 at a home center. It will show in graphic detail with photos exactly how to go about doing this. Is summary it will involve installing a new 20A single pole, 120V, breaker in the breaker box, running direct burial three wire cable and mounting a GFI outlet near where you want it. Total cost about $50 if not too long a run.
- are you in the uk? i have no idea what the standards are there, but that link you gave seems pretty simple, though it only has a 3m cord, and may interfere with other things on the same circuit if they're in use at the same time. i've wired my entire house here in the states, and for an outdoor circuit it's best to run a new 20A circuit with 12/3 AWG wire. steve has great advice, and i think i have that same book.
- If you don't know enough to use the term electrical instead of electronics, the cheapest method is to PAY a professional. You just told us you are not qualified to do this yourself. Doing electrical work wrong near water is a good way to die. Note: Your link is EXTREMELY overpriced. Paying a professional won't cost much more than that ripoff.
- Well I guess I won't get best answer, IF you know Nothing about Electrical work the only thing that will happen is Dangerous, Call an Electrician or Do Without!
