Are there regulations/restrictions on ponds/water features in Illinois?

I want to build a small pond with a waterfall in my backyard and I want to know if there are any regulations/restrictions that I should concider.

2. What town in Illinois? How big? How deep? Be careful not to taer up any important stuff. Go to town hall and apply for a building permit, have the utilty companies ensure that the lines don't go where you'd like to dig. Have fun!
