Wall Water Features

Help...What should I do with this ugly pond?

I bought a house (in Peoria, AZ) and it came with a half finished pond in the front yard. The THANG looks UGLY!... See photos here: http://www.cnw.com/~ulicip/Pond/index.html Any ideas what I could do with it? I thought about a few choices: 1) Cover the waterfal steps with flat stone (slate? or whatever they call it) Do the same with the pond wall 2) take out waterfall and replace it with a water feature in the middle (some kind of water fountain thing that sprays water) 3) Take out the whole thing and replace it with a small birdbath and plant some trees there for shade. Any suggestions? I actually like the idea of having some fish there, but I'm worried about the costs btw... the neighbors are begging me to get rid of it.

  1. flat flagstones would cost you a small fortune to surround it with and as lovely as fish would be, in a sunny area in that heat you might just boil them by mistake! I would take the stair part off, fill it with some good quality moisture retaining soil and plant some pretty things that will grow well in your area. You can put decorative pots around the outside perimeter and plant herbs or some flowers in them. I hope whatever you decide on, that you have fun changing it around to suit you.
  2. lol omg, from far view it looks like a grave :D I like option 3, that would look really pretty..
  3. Dude, beautiful house, beautiful pond. Finish it. put the koi fish in it and some water lilies . it's gorgous.
