Wall Water Features

Does water react on plexiglass the same way it does on real glass?

I'm trying to build a water wall fountain, because of cost I would much rather use plexiglass, would water run down plexiglass the same way?

1. I believe it will, however, plexiglass will tend to "yellow" after a while.
